The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Singapore Ussen Suleimen met with the Speaker of the Singapore Parliament Halimah Yacob. "Suleimen told the speaker about the main provisions of constitutional and economic reforms in Kazakhstan, including priorities for Modernization 3.0 and the Modernization of Public Consciousness.The parties also discussed the upcoming official visit of the Speaker of the Singapore Parliament to Kazakhstan, scheduled for June this year during the official opening ceremony of EXPO 2017 in Astana.The Kazakh diplomat expressed hope that the Singapore pavilion at EXPO 2017 will be one of the best and will demonstrate advanced developments in the field of alternative energy sources,” in the press service said.
As noted in the ministry, Halimah Yacob highly appreciated the far-sighted policy of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, including political and economic reforms implemented in the country, noting the growing dynamics of expansion of Kazakh-Singapore collaboration, in particular, in trade, economic and investment cooperation under the “One Belt, One Road” project.
"It was especially emphasized that the long-term friendship between President Nazarbayev and former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew laid the foundation for the progressive development of bilateral relations and mutually beneficial partnership," was noted in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
