Loan funds were attracted to complete construction of the new Astana Airport terminal

A loan for the amount of 11 billion tenge was issued to Astana Airport by the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. The funds will be used to complete the construction of a new passenger terminal, reports.

According to the information of the DBK, the loan term is 14 years. The total budget of the project for the construction of the terminal is 92.6 billion tenge.

"The long-term credit resources provided by the Bank will allow to complete the construction of a new passenger terminal of the airport of the capital of Kazakhstan (…) The implementation of the project will improve the quality of airport services for passengers,” noted Balzhan Yessenbayeva, senior client service manager at DBK.

With the advent of the new terminal, the capacity of Astana airport will more than double - up to 7.6 million passengers per year. After the construction is completed, 350 permanent jobs will be created.

"The new passenger terminal of the capital airport with an area of 47 020 square meters will have a technological scheme for servicing passengers both on international and domestic routes, meeting the requirements of international standards and recommended practice of the International Civil Aviation Organization," was informed in DBK.

Let us remind, the new terminal of Astana Airport will open on the threshold of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. In early April, it was reported that the construction of the facility will be fully completed in mid-May.
