EXPO will test the readiness of the tourism industry of Kazakhstan - UNESCO

UNESCO representatives discussed the development of tourism in Kazakhstan. They organized a sub-regional meeting in Almaty, the "Khabar 24" TV channel reported.

According to UNESCO experts, the forthcoming world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017 will provide an opportunity to test the tourism industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The participants of the meeting worked out practical recommendations that would allow to present whole routes along the Silk Road. The representatives of the organization believe thet development of this direction will help create the necessary infrastructure and preserve the cultural and natural heritage of Kazakhstan.

"Taking into account a very important event that will take place in your capital Astana this year, it is very important to combine efforts in order to use this event to promote Kazakhstan, as it is - the very heart of the Silk Road. It is very important to use this opportunity to promote sustainable tourism", - UNESCO project officer Roland Lin said.
