Finland to present ways of eco-friendly wood construction at the EXPO

25 May

Honkarakenne company will act as a partner of the pavilion of Finland at the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. It will demonstrate the technology of eco-friendly construction of houses, said the organizers of the Finnish exhibition pavilion.

"We intend to position ourselves as the leading provider of environmentally friendly, healthy housing in the selected market segments. Eco-friendly consumer habits are already a global trend with more and more people ready to invest their money in the quality of housing and the well-being of their families. Kazakhstan with neighboring regions is interesting developing market", - said Honkarakenne Managing Director, Marco Saarelainen.

The company has its representative offices in Kazakhstan. The first Honkarakenne houses were delivered to the republic in the 90s of the XX century. According to the company representatives, the log house is a comfortable and safe solution not only for private housing but for public facilities as well. It is easy to breathe in such buildings and natural material from pine prevents penetration of moisture. In addition, log houses are excellent for seismic activity zones.

Honkarakenne also cares about the environment purchasing raw materials only in forests that have PEFC certification. This serves as a guarantee that the wood is harvested in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.

Let us remind that an extensive delegation of representatives of the KFEIG consortium will take part in the work of the Finnish pavilion of the international exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. It includes the four largest technical universities of Finland - Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, Hämeenlinna University of Applied Sciences, Tampere Adult Education Center and Lahti University of Applied Sciences.

In addition, Joulupukki, the Finnish Santa Claus, will fly to Astana from Lapland for an exhibition from Lapland from July 18 to August 11. Despite the fact that traditionally the fairy-tale character usually leaves his house only on Christmas holidays, Finnish Santa Claus decided to make an exception for the guests of Astana EXPO 2017. Also Finnish representatives decided to create the effect of the Northern Lights in their pavilion as well as to demonstrate their advanced developments in the field of agricultural technologies and provide an alternative to air conditioners for apartments.

After the exhibition, Finland will take part in the creation of a park of IT startups based on the facilities of EXPO 2017.

The sketches of the Finnish exhibition pavilion were previously published on the internet.

Earlier it became known that EXPO 2017 tickets lottery was held in Finland in order to warm up interest in the technologies that they plan to show in Astana. The tickets lottery for the opening day of the exhibition takes place on the page of the Finnish pavilion in Facebook.

It is expected that the President of Finland Sauli Niiniste will also be among the honorable guests of the Astana EXPO 2017 exhibition.
