12 May

Germany presented the largest pavilion of the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. As German ambassador to Kazakhstan Rolf Mafael said, the German exposition will occupy an area of 1,700 square meters, the "Astana" TV channel reports.

"The German side will present the "City of the Future ", the possibilities of electric transport, smart homes, etc. As for the topic "Energy of the future”, Germany is among the best ones in this area. Recently, scientists have calculated that about 85 percent of consumed electricity in the country is provided by renewable sources. The developers of the German pavilion expect that their creation will have success among visitors,” the television channel reported.

According to Dietmar Schmitz, the Commissioner General  of the German EXPO Pavilion, about 80 people will serve the guests who are fluent in 4 languages - Kazakh, Russian, German and English.

"75% of staff members will be representatives of Kazakhstan, and 25% will come from Germany. The country of residence will not be a key factor in the selection of employees, it is precisely the compliance with the requirements for employees of German pavilion during the world exhibitions. Along with the knowledge of the above languages, clearly, communication skills are also required,” shared Schmitz.

The fact that the Germans decided to tell at EXPO 2017 about renewable sources of solar, wind, water and geothermal energy, as well as to present smart houses and towns projects was reported in early April. At the same time, a large parliamentary delegation from Germany visited Astana.
