Epic Fails

Chinese citizen finds himself in the centre of scandal in Kazakhstan on the threshold of EXPO

1 May

Journalist Ularbek Duleiuly published on his Facebook page photos of a Chinese tourist who climbed a monument to three legendary Kazakh Judges, 365info.kz reports. ”The barbarians, to whom nothing is sacred, came to the Kazakh steppe," wrote the author. According to the user, this act means the victory and superiority of the foreign guest.

"So his prank is that he wants to say: "I came, I saw, I conquered, and what will you do to me ?!” I have no intention to sow interethnic discord, but if the competent authorities do not find this person and do not get the punishment for him by diplomatic channels through the Chinese embassy, the case may go too far,” the journalist wrote.

As Ularbek Duleiuly notes, several hundred thousand Chinese will soon come to  the international exhibition in Kazakhstan.

"And among them there may be little educated barbarians who believe that everything is allowed to them. No one can guarantee that tomorrow they will not climb up to the monuments of Abylai Khan, Kenesary, Kabanbai and Bogenbai. If we truly honour the memory of our great ancestors, then we must ensure that this arrogant Chinese is brought to justice!” Duleiuly added.

Later, the journalist reported that the Chinese citizen who climbed the monument was detained by the police of the PRC. The incident occurred on the territory of the People's Republic of China, where the Kazakhs living there established a monument to the three great kazakh judges.

It should be reminded that Expo2017.com website has already told about five reasons why the forthcoming Astana EXPO 2017 exhibition is of interest to the Chinese. Among the main reasons - the upcoming concert of Dimash Kudaibergen, after whose participation in "I'm a singer" contest, China was swept by a real "Dimashemania". Earlier, the Director of the Industry and Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Igali promised that a popular singer would definitely take part in the exhibition. In addition to the concert itself, it is expected that an animation studio from Beijing will show an animation film about Dimash Kudaibergen at EXPO 2017. Earlier, about the concert of the singer at the exhibition, in the interview to the Chinese TV channel told the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan, Arystanbek Mukhamediuly. Let us note that at the concert of the singer the fight took place between the guards of the Central Concert Hall "Kazakhstan" and journalists, and the Minister Mukhamediuly, commenting on this information, noted, that he drew the appropriate conclusions before the exhibition.

It is also expected that within the framework of Astana EXPO 2017 an exhibition of the legendary Terracotta Army will take place.

The pavilion of China itself will be fully completed by the end of May and will be one of the largest expositions of the exhibition. The main focus this country intends to make on the achievements with which it is possible to receive electricity and nuclear energy from the water. The largest at EXPO 2017 is also expected to be a delegation from China. Xinjiang Week, along with the “Year of China’s Tourism in Kazakhstan” and the National Day of China in Astana will be held at the Chinese pavilion of the exhibition.

Among the honoured guests of the exhibition will be the President of China Xi Jinping.

It is also known that the informational support for EXPO will be provided by China Radio International.
