Parking places of the EXPO site can provide its visitors with only half of the required number

Astana LRT LLP conducted a study and estimated how many parking spaces will be needed in the capital for the guests of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. The analysis was based on the data provided by JSC "NC "Astana EXPO-2017", the information portal Elorda.info reports.

The analysis showed that the maximum number of visitors to the exhibition per day would be 128,700 people.

"In accordance with the registration log of EXPO, the distribution by mode of transport and modes of transportation has been made. Thus about 50% of visitors will use public transport, 36.3% of which by city buses, 6.3% by express buses, 14.1% by coach transport between cities, 2% - by taxi, 33.3% of visitors will come to the exhibition by private transport. The calculations were made on the peak day", - the message says.

According to Astana LRT LLP, the required number of parking spaces on the peak day is 11 071 parking spaces. Meanwhile, only 6 thousand parking spaces are provided on the territory of the exhibition.

To solve the problem of shortage of parking places, it is proposed to use the Park of the Schoolchildren, the Palace of Peace and Harmony, the city park, the capital circus, the entertainment center "Duman", "Music Hall" restaurant, "Khan Shatyr"shopping center. Thus, the company noted, there will be 3,350 additional parking spaces.

Let us remind that the launch of a number of paid parking lots is planned by the beginning of the world specialized exhibition in Astana. The first parking of this kind will open in the capital of Kazakhstan on May 27.
