A well-known economist linked Kazakhstan's GDP growth to EXPO

19 May

The GDP of Kazakhstan is growing due to the construction of objects of the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. This opinion was expressed by the well-known economist Almas Chukin, informational portal reports.

The construction sphere in Kazakhstan, Chukin said, is gradually recovering after the decline. And, mainly, because of the erection of the objects of the international exhibition.

“The state has "ploughed" about 1.5 billion dollars there. I think that a certain decline will take place in the industry after EXPO. So far, big construction projects do not seem to be anticipated anymore. If, of course, we will not come up with anything yet," said the expert .

Let us note that according to the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, GDP growth for the first four months of 2017 was 3.7%. According to the government department, this was achieved thanks to the development of mining and manufacturing industries, construction and service industry.
