Two additional bus terminals to open in Astana by the beginning of EXPO

23 May

Two new bus terminals will appear in Astana. They will be opened on June 1 on the threshold of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017, “Kazinform” reports.

The new bus terminal of “Alai" Shopping Centre, according to Roman Sklyar, Vice Minister for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will service additional 31 trips from the western regions a day. Another branch - “Ken-Mart" is already ready to accept 34 trips a day and more than 1500 passengers from the southern and central regions.

The number of bus trips to Astana will be more than doubled. Additional 250 will be added to the existing 48 buses. Moreover, for the high-quality organization of road transport, the Transport Committee of the Ministry for Investments and Development of Republic of Kazakhstan forms a list of buses indicating their state numbers, owners, capacity and year of release. The stationary post “Kyzylzhar” will exercise control in “Astana-Karaganda” direction, mobile posts in the following directions: Astana-Kosshy, Astana-Korgalzhyn, Astana-Atbasar, Astana-Kokshetau and Astana-Pavlodar .

It is assumed that about 350 thousand people will come to the exhibition by regular bus services to the capital.

Let us note that the acting bus terminal of Astana was previously criticized by the former deputy of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tanirbergen Berdongar who inspected the site privately and filmed the video "Bus terminal of Astana through the eyes of EXPO 2017 tourist". After seeing the video, most commentators were embarrassed by the bus terminal before foreigners.
