Kazakhstani citizen walked to Astana for a half month to see EXPO

Athlete from Ust-Kamenogorsk Galymzhan Toktarov managed to walk to Astana for 16 days. He went to the capital of Kazakhstan in order to attend the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017, the press service of the akim of the East Kazakhstan region informed.

"I am very happy that I met the deadline and managed to see the start of the exhibition. In the beginning of the journey it was difficult for me but then the body adapted and on the way many villagers greeted me very hospitably", - Toktarov said.

Let us note that the athlete is not a professional runner but he goes in for powerlifting. He began his journey from the monument to Kabanbai batyr on the outskirts of Ust-Kamenogorsk. The journey started on May 26.

It should be noted that the distance between the two cities is 997.5 kilometers.
