From June 19 to June 20, the World Congress of engineers and scientists will be held in Astana within the framework of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. The Nobel Prize winners will come to the forum, who have already confirmed their participation in the event, DKNEWS.kz information agency reports.
The former chief adviser to the UN Secretary-General on climate change, the author of "sustainable development” concept, a Nobel laureate Chung Rae Kwon, will arrive in the capital of Kazakhstan. At the forum, he will make a presentation on "Development of low-carbon technologies as a driver of the green economy." Chung Rae Kwon is sure that it is thanks to the ecology that economic growth can be achieved.
In addition, four more Nobel laureates confirmed their participation in the congress. They are professors Mohan Munasinghe, Rajendra Kumar Pachauri and Duncan Michael Haldane.
It should be noted that such a high-level forum is being held for the first time not only in Kazakhstan, but also in Central Asia. The purpose of the meeting will be to search for new solutions to global energy problems, developments and innovations. In total, more than 1,000 delegates from 50 countries will take part in the congress.
The main theme of the World Congress of engineers and scientists in the framework of EXPO is called "Energy of the future: innovative scenarios and methods of their implementation".
