President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with Chairman of the National Security Committee Karim Massimov and Interior Minister Kalmukhanbet Kasymov. This was reported in the press service of Akorda, EXPO2017.com website reports.
"During the meeting Head of state was presented with a report on the state of the criminal situation in the country based on the results of five months of 2017. Noting the results of the measures carried out by law enforcement bodies, Nazarbayev stressed the need to continue high-quality work to ensure the safety of citizens", - the press service said.
The Kazakh leader noted that, the criminal situation on the whole in the country is improving.
"Crime has decreased by 16 percent and the level of disclosure has been raised from 60 to 70.2 percent. Amnesty was applied to 26,000 people with 1,200 of them released from prison", - Nazarbayev said.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also reported on measures being taken to ensure law and order in Astana during the World Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2017 and spoke about the results of the ongoing reforms in the internal affairs bodies. Nazarbayev thanked all law enforcement officers for the effective security of the opening ceremony of the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017.
"I want to thank all the country's police service, the National Security Committee, the Foreign Intelligence Service "Syrbar "and other bodies that provided security at the opening of the EXPO 2017 with the participation of a large number of heads of state and other guests. We held the opening in an very organized manner", - the Kazakh president said.
The Head of State highly appreciated the work of all the services, noting the special complexity of the organization of the security of such events.
"People from other regions were sent to work in Astana, all officers stood in their posts, everyone was engaged in their own business, everything was provided at a good professional level, "Nazarbayev summed up.
At the end of the meeting, the Kazakh leader gave a number of specific instructions to the leaders of the National Security Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
