A modern transport development business forum took place in the Italian pavilion of the world specialized exhibition within the framework EXPO 2017 in Astana. The event was organized by Iveco company together with AllurGroup, "Kursiv" business newspaper reports.
"In Kazakhstan, the IVECO BUS was selected by the city authorities of Astana as an official bus supplier: it provided the Citelis bus fleet for preparation for EXPO 2017, and thanks to the recent deliveries of Urbanway and Urbanway Hybrid models, 570 IVECO BUS buses will work in Astana public transport system. The hybrid buses consume 30% less fuel than conventional models. They also reduce CO2 emissions by 33% and nitrogen oxides (NOx) by 40% compared to diesel equivalents. This means a reduction of 25 tons of CO2 per year for a standard bus and 37 tons of fuel for a hinged-articulated bus," the edition notes.
All these aspects and other trends in the development of modern public transport were discussed at the forum.
"The exhibition "EXPO 2017" provides us with an ideal platform for an exchange of views on the topic of modern transport development. We have organized this forum to discuss ways of developing the transport industry, as we face the greatest challenge of the century - a future, in which we protect the environment through efficient and responsible use of energy," the representative of CNH Industrial company, Roberto Valfré di Bonzo said.
The event addressed issues of the installation of an emergency call system in case of accidents and catastrophes, as well as issues related to fuel economy and the use of gas equipment in cars manufactured in Kazakhstan.
Let us remind that on the threshold of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017, 167 Shuttle Buses of Iveco Urbanway brand rolled out on the streets of Astana. They service 7 new routes, which opened to the beginning of the exhibition.
