During the meeting dedicated to the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 and development of the capital, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev raised the issue of training drivers for new buses in Astana. This is reported by the IIA "Dknews.kz".
"Effective city traffic in the capital should become a distinctive feature of Astana compared to other cities. We purchased 380 Iveco buses for this purpose for 46 billion tenge, each of which cost the state 120 million tenge. Now it turns out that there are no drivers who match the qualification, there are no service stations for these buses", - Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.
The President pointed out that the issues of training drivers should be taken into account when buying buses. Deputy Akim of Astana Sergey Khoroshun confessed that they "lost the situation" about the drivers.
"Now we are correcting the situation: the first 30 buses have arrived already, literally every week we will receive 80 buses. We will get the whole number of buses by the end of May. 200 drivers have already been accepted. We started the transfer by the end of May", - Sergey Khoroshun explained.
"Will you have 380 buses for the EXPO?" - the President asked the deputy akim.
"Yes, we will", - replied Khoroshun.
"Look, now if you get the drivers in a hurry, they will start driving around the streets knocking everyone down. Take care of the situation", - Nazarbayev instructed.
It became known earlier that work on training the personnel of Astana bus parks has begun to meet foreign guests on the eve of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. After a lot of complaints city authorities are currently trying to re-educate bus drivers.
