The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed that anti-ramming devices are available in case of a terrorist attack during the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Administrative Police Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Musakanov, IIA "" reports.

"Taking into account what is happening in the world, we have about 450 blocks designed to protect people from an explosion. We also provide anti-ramming devices so that, for example, a freight vehicle should not pass towards the congestion of people during the EXPO", - Musakanov said.

In addition, face recognition system will be used to scan people who may be participants of various religious groups.

"Along with this, we conducted training courses on profiling with the participation of international experts - a system for detecting citizens in a deranged state or intending to carry out a terrorist attack", - added the deputy chairman of the administrative police.

Musakanov also informed that Security Center will start its work in the office of the organizing company. An interdepartmental working group established in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan will interact with it during the entire period of the exhibition.

"In total, more than 5 thousand employees, 3,300 military personnel, 500 cadets and officers of the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan as well as 630 employees of private security enterprises and 174 students of higher educational institutions of the RK who are fluent in foreign languages will be involved in the protection of public order", - the ministry official said.

All personnel of the internal affairs bodies of Kazakhstan will be transferred to the state of higher alert starting from June 1.

"Along with this, enhanced security measures will be applied at all "Rubezh" police stations along the perimeter of the capital with the inspection of the entering transport", - Musakanov said.

Moreover, it became known about the possible introduction of restrictions for trucks entering Astana.

"Basically, the restrictions will mainly refer to heavy-duty trucks. The akimat will provide parking places for entering the city. The question is also being discussed to prohibit or restrict cargo transportation in the day time during the exhibition of EXPO in Astana. Entering Astana for heavy-duty trucks will be available during night time only", - summed up the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Let us remind that with the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 coming up, Astana police launched an operational preventive campaign (OPC) aimed to increase the level of law and order and public security, stabilization of the criminal situation in the capital of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the peacekeeping operations in the place of residence, persons who are on the preventive list of the internal affairs bodies are being inspected. Owners of firearms and hunting weapons are subject to an inspection for compliance with the rules for storage and registration of weapons. The police reported that 1319 earlier crimes, including 14 murders and 97 robberies, had already been solved within the framework of the republican campaign.

It should be noted that starting from March, 15 one more OPC named "District" is being held in Astana. It will last until June, 1. Earlier, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, held a meeting with the Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov and instructed the security services to ensure security at the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017.
