16 June

The Singapore pavilion at the world specialized exhibition in Astana was implemented in the terrarium style. The official opening ceremony of the exposition took place at the EXPO 2017 site, "Khabar 24" TV channel reports.

The solemn event was attended by the Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore Halimah Yacob, Kazakhstan Senator Bektas Beknazarov and Chairman of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan Kairat Kelimbetov. Welcoming participants and guests of the exhibition, Ms.Yacob expressed her confidence that Kazakhstan would certainly enter the top thirty leading countries until 2050 and noted that Singapore is considering the issue of concluding a free trade treaty with the EAEU.

The pavilion itself is divided into 6 main zones, it includes 250 terrariums made by hand by young specialists from Singapore. As the chief architect of the exhibition site explained, the pavilion is completely collapsible and after the exhibition the Singapore side plans to take all its parts with them.

Let us note that conceptually the Singapore's pavilion at the exhibition represents an ecosystem for the development of effective solutions for a sustainable future.
