25 May

The local police service of Astana denied the information about the forcible expulsion from the capital of Kazakhstan of people with no fixed place of residence for the period of the world specialized exhibition EXPO. This was reported in the press service of the Akimat of Astana.

As reported in the Akimat, earlier, a report about alleged removal of 150 tramps from Astana to Petropavlovsk had been previously circulated in social networks.

"To date, more than 300 citizens have been delivered to the capital's reception centre. In addition, more than 300 citizens were taken to the receiver for people with no fixed place of residence," said the Deputy Head of the Local Police Service of Astana, Gosman Zhakin.

Zhakin noted that the issue of deportation of foreigners who violated the migration legislation is being decided.

"In addition, the search for relatives of nonresident citizens with no fixed place of residence is carried out, and operates a 24-hour hotline for citizens," reported in the press service of akim of Astana.

Let us remind, on May 10 in Astana in preparation for the EXPO 2017 the operational and practical event "Law and order” has started, which will last until May 31. An intensified inspection of the documents is provided within the framework of this event. In the Akimat of the capital of Kazakhstan, guests and residents of Astana were asked to show understanding and, if requested, present the necessary documents to law enforcement officials.

Earlier became known that all foreign citizens, who are on the territory of Kazakhstan illegally, by the beginning of the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017 will be deported from the country.

In March the Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Astana Amantai Aubakirov informed that police officers are concerned about the problem of homeless and beggars on the streets of the capital on the threshold of international specialised exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. According to the law enforcement officers beggars and homeless people will only spoil the appearance of the city.

As reported by metropolitan authorities, the work of policemen with homeless people also involves the identification of tuberculosis patients, as well as drug addicts and alcoholics.
