Police detained a suspect in an attempt to carry a package with ammunition to the EXPO

A package with live ammunition was found at the checkpoint of the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. Dangerous ammunition was found on June 20 at 11:00 by policemen, the "Sputnik" agency reports with reference to the press service of the Astana Department of Internal Affairs.

"A suspect who owns cartridges, a 22-year-old resident of the Karaganda region, was detected and detained with the help of a video surveillance system in the shortest period of time. The fact is registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigation under Article 287 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives)", - the newspaper reports.

According to the expert, the cartridges are manufactured by factory method and are intended for shooting from rifled hunting guns.

"Investigative actions are being conducted against the detainee", - the agency reports.

The police reminded that it is forbidden to carry fire, traumatic, gas and cold weapons of any modification, stabbing and cutting objects, knives, radioactive materials, poisonous, toxic and corrosive, coloring and oxidizing substances and organic peroxides, flammable and pyrotechnic products, all types of fuels and lubricants, lithium-ion batteries (gyro-cartridges and similar objects) and other substances that can lead to smoke or ignition.
