The police has banned unauthorized drone flights over EXPO territory

7 June

The police has banned unauthorized drone flights in Astana over the territory of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. The spokesman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almas Sadubayev, announced the establishment of a restricted flight zone over the exhibition complex on his Facebook page.

"The use of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) in the airspace of the exhibition should be coordinated with the competent authorities (State Security Service, National Security Committee, Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Investment and Development) and carried out strictly with the flight plan. In identifying the facts of unauthorized use of UAVs over the territory of the exhibition, appropriate measures will be taken,” Sadubayev wrote.

Mr. Sadubayev specified that the perpetrators will be brought to justice as violators of the regulation of using the airspace of Kazakhstan. Sadubayev noted that the MIA appeals to residents and guests of the capital, media representatives and bloggers with a request to strictly observe the legislation when using unmanned aerial vehicles.
