Following the remarks by Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's Prime Minister held a meeting on preparations for EXPO

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting on execution of the instructions of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the socio-economic development of Astana and the preparations for the international specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. This was reported in the press service of the Government.

"During the meeting were discussed the issues of development of Astana as the main platform for the introduction of digital technologies in the country, as the Head of State said on the eve in his speech during the visit of EXPO 2017,” reported in the government.

In addition, Sagintayev familiarized himself with the construction of a new passenger terminal of Astana airport.

"Reconstruction of the passenger terminal of Astana airport goes within the implementation of the “Nurly Zhol” program since January 2015. The project envisages construction of a terminal with a total area of 47,000 square meters, after which the airport capacity will be more than 8.2 million passengers per year,” report says.

As noted in the press service of the Government, on June 1, the new terminal will be ready to receive passengers of the first flight.

Let us remind, the President of Kazakhstan at a meeting on socio-economic development of Astana and the course of preparation for the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 identified a number of issues related to the preparation for the event.
