International conference dedicated to the effective treatment of patients with diabetes was held at the site of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Embassy of France and Sanofi company, the correspondent of EXPO2017.com reports.
According to experts, the incidence and prevalence of type II diabetes is growing all over the world. Over the past ten years, the number of patients in Kazakhstan has doubled. According to a study conducted by Sanofi, every 12th adult citizen of Kazakhstan can be diagnosed with diabetes. These data point to the need to develop special programs aimed at early detection of the disease.

Due to unhealthy lifestyle, as vice-minister of health of Kazakhstan Lyazat Aktaeva noted, many Kazakhstani citizens are at risk. The causes of the incidence are malnutrition, sitting lifestyle, nervous stress and so on. More than 1.5 million people over 40 years old are screened annually in Kazakhstan for the early detection of diabetes mellitus.
