3 July

Madagascar has great potential in the development of renewable energy sources. This was announced at the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017 by the vice minister for youth and sport of the Republic of Madagascar Robert Randrianirin, the MIA "Kazinform" reports.

"Renewable energy sources have great potential. Speaking about solar energy, its power is 2000 kilowatt hours, in most regions the Sun shines 2800 hours in a year. Wind energy also has the potential. The limit of wind power varies from 3 meters to 25 meters per second, within this limit, energy can be produced in the North, South and West of the island", - Randrianirina said.

According to the representative of Madagascar, this potential can be easily used on the island for the successful development of renewable energy sources.
