103 new buses to join the routes passing through the EXPO site in Astana

The public transport routes that pass through the territory of the world's specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 in Astana are planned to be reinforced by adding 103 new buses. As the press service of Astana akim reported, 11 routes will now pass through the territory of the exhibition center.

"These measures will allow to significantly reduce the traffic interval - from 10-15 to 5-7 minutes, in addition, it will increase the daily carrying capacity of public transport from 150 thousand to 260 thousand trips," - the press service explained.

Earlier Astana akimat told that 167 new Shuttle Bus buses and Iveco Urbanway will enter the streets of Astana on the eve of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. They will serve seven new routes to be opened by the beginning of the exhibition.

Let us remind that the launch of night express bus routes on the eve of EXPO started in mid-April . According to the information of the passenger transport department of Astana, these routes will operate after the completion of the world specialized exhibition.

In addition, in early May, authorities of Astana reported that 12 more sections of streets in the city will have a special lane for the movement of public transport by June 1. The new special bus lanes will increase the length of streets allocated for the movement of buses up to 40.6 kilometers.
