During the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017, the amount of garbage in Astana will increase significantly. This was stated by the head of the project on cleaning the city, Aktan Yesmagambetov, "Kazinform" reports.
"We get about 750 cubic meters of garbage from three districts, and we expect that during EXPO the amount of garbage will increase to 1000 cubic meters per day. For the record, during EXPO we will have a work schedule from 22.00 to 06.00 am. After the exhibition we will work in two shifts,” Yesmagambetov noted.
He stressed the importance of understanding by metropolitan residents of the need to separate waste when throwing out the garbage.
"On garbage containers, we want to designate the destination for each type of garbage separately. The people need to be accustomed to the separation of garbage in any case. The CAO needs to be connected to this issue and run specialized video advertising .Then it will be easier for us to recycle garbage, and the dirt in the city will be less,” said the head of the project on cleaning the city.
At the same time, a garbage processing plant will be launched at the Kazrecycleservice metropolitan enterprise. It will handle processing of non-removable fractions of plastic, polyethylene and polypropylene.
"It is a heavily contaminated plastic that can not be cleaned up and get the pellets out of it, as well as thin-walled plastic, which is very difficult to dispose of, including ordinary cellophane shirts. This waste will be used for domestic heating fuel according to the national standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” said the project manager of Kazrecycleservice company for waste processing, Andrey Lyubimov.
