The Embassy of Switzerland in Kazakhstan held a presentation of its pavilion at the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. This is reported by “Kazinform”.
"We really like the theme of EXPO 2017 -"Energy of the Future.” Thank you to Kazakhstan for such a topical theme. It's fantastic, because we have something to show in this field.We want to convey that our children will not have a future without sustainable energy development,” said the head of "Presence Switzerland”, Nicolas Bideau, whose agency is promoting Switzerland abroad.
The Swiss pavilion, as well as geographically, and on the territory of EXPO-town is adjacent to the pavilions of Austria, Czech Republic and Luxembourg. The total area of the pavilion is 560 square meters. As Bideau told, for the time being the exposition is 50% ready.
"The Swiss pavilion at EXPO 2017 invites its visitors to discover the famous Swiss natural landscape.The organizers say that Almaty residents will find something native in this atmosphere.The whole room is a multimedia space.With motion sensors and sensory technologies it comes to life with the colours of summer, depending on how many people will be inside.There are three thematic houses on the territory of the pavilion, dedicated to the beautiful Swiss mountain ranges, rational use of water and popularisation of National cuisine,” report says.
In addition, a swissnex laboratory will be located on the territory, where the knowledge exchange between Swiss and Kazakh institutions and universities in science, education and innovation is expected.
"It is planned to hold a series of seminars, temporary exhibitions, special events for scientists, students and entrepreneurs. The Swiss pavilion will open its doors on June 10 and plans to receive 500,000 visitors within three months,” the edition notes.
It also became known that the President of Switzerland, Doris Leuthard plans to visit EXPO in August.
"Our government consists of only seven ministers.This summer EXPO 2017 in Astana is going to be visited by Foreign Minister Didier Burkhalter in June, Finance Minister Ueli Maurer in July, as well as President of the Swiss Confederation Doris Leuthard," shared Nicholas Bideau.
