The food issue at the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017 is of concern to every visitor of the event. “Sputnik” agency writes about what they feed at the exhibition, how much is the lunch and where you can snack for free.

For quenching your thirst, which is inevitable in Astana’s heat, you can take water with you, but not in a glass container, and at the entrance the security service may ask you to take a sip. In addition, dispensers with water and plastic cups are installed in many pavilions and rooms. There you can also fill the flasks, and there are drinking fountains in the "Best Practices Zone”.

If you buy water, 0.5 litre water bottle will cost an average of 300 tenge or slightly less than one US dollar at the current rate.

Also, the water is served free of charge in many catering establishments, especially in those specializing in the spicy cuisine - for instance, in Korean restaurants.

If you familiarize yourself with EXPO events calendar in advance, you can eat absolutely free of charge in many pavilions during the celebration of national days, and on the third floor of Thailand pavilion you can at any time try Thai coffee for free, and if you order national dishes and purchase soft drinks you will need to pay another 2750 tenge (8.6 dollars - hereinafter notes in brackets EXPO 2017.com).

In addition, a dozen national restaurants of different countries are operating on the territory of the exhibition, and a few more will open before the end of the exhibition. In Uzbek restaurant you can order a substantial portion of pilaf, which costs 1,200 tenge, and samsa costs 200 tenge ( 3.7 dollars and 60 cents, respectively).

The Czech Republic has two food points - a Czech restaurant where a glass of beer can be ordered for 2100 tenge (6.6 dollars) and a small bakery on the street, where for 700 tenge (2,2 dollars) you can buy a Czech twisted bun trdelník.

“In summary, it is safe to say that visiting catering points at EXPO is quite comparable to the cost of snacks in a shopping mall or a visit to a city restaurant. In addition, snacks and baby food can be easily carried to the territory of EXPO,” the agency concludes.
