The cars of the best partners and drivers of the Uber call taxi service in Astana will be equipped with routers for free Wi-Fi. A special service was developed jointly with Power WiFi company specifically for the guests of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017, Forbes magazine reports.
"When visiting a new country, what do you do first?" - post a story on Instagram or on Facebook. Today's tourist rarely exists without Internet at all. At the same time the access to the Internet is needed not only in a cafe or in a hotel, but also in the city and even during the trip. In this regard, the Internet in the Uber car that takes you from the airport is a great solution: for 40 minutes of the trip you can check your mail and your hotel reservation and, of course, make a selfie with a hashtag #inAstana,” the Director of Power WiFi, Alyona Tkachenko said.
As the edition writes, Power WiFi is a service for tourists on renting a 4G modem, combined with a charger and an application. The company already has experience in various forums and such large-scale projects as the XXVIII World Winter Universiade-2017.
"Traveling around the city is an important part of any trip, be it tourism or business trip. Participants of EXPO 2017 in Astana should be in contact all the time, and thanks to our cooperation with Power WIFI, we can do it. We are confident that foreign guests will keep pleasant memories of the trip to Kazakhstan,” noted General Manager of Uber in the CIS, Alexei Stakh.
Currently, there are 50 automobiles on the basis of Power WiFi that are operating in test mode in Astana. By the time of the opening of EXPO 2017, Forbes notes, the number of equipped cars is planned to significantly increase.
Let us remind it was reported earlier that there will be 18 Wi-Fi access points with free Internet access in Astana, which operate on renewable energy sources. The project is being implemented by the Akimat of the capital of Kazakhstan on the threshold of the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017.
