Participants of the seventh "Silk Way - 2017” rally-raid will make a solemn passage in Astana in honour of the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. The route will cover the territories of Russia, Kazakhstan and China, EXPO2017.com website reports with reference to the press service of the rally organizers.
"The start of the longest rally of the planet will be traditionally given on Red Square in Moscow on 7 July, and then the race will continue its journey to the East. The caravan will arrive in Kazakhstan on July 10. The first city to take the rally, like last year, will be Kostanay, on the next day the riders will start the Kostanay-Astana stage. Upon arrival in the capital of Kazakhstan on July 11, the solemn passage of the participants will be organized within the framework of the events of the international exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. On July 12, the next stage of Astana-Semey will be launched and the Kazakhstani route rally will be completed with the Semey-Urzhar stage on July 13. The "Silk Way" will travel from the East Kazakhstan region to China, where the participants will get to the finish in the ancient city of Xi'an on July 22,” reported in the press service.
The organizers of the project note that participants of the "Silk Way - 2017" rally, as well as last year, are awaiting the most interesting stages in Kazakhstan, which has a diverse natural landscape suitable for the rally competitions of the international level.
"Sand dunes, high-speed steppe rally roads, complex navigation, as well as a warm welcome and Eastern hospitality along with exquisite national treats will traditionally give participants of the “Silk Way” rally an unforgettable experience of visiting Kazakhstan," the organizers shared.
The “Silk Way” rally is one of the largest competitions in the world of rally raids. For the first time the race was held in 2009, connecting Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
