Astana Akimat denied any restrictions for ex-prisoners on entry to the capital during EXPO

18 May

During the world specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 former prisoners can enter the capital without any restrictions. This was announced in the capital's akimat, the information portal Tengrinews.kz reports.

"Currently, there is no statutory ban on the arrival of persons released from places of deprivation of freedom in Astana. Therefore no illegal actions to restrict the movement of persons released from places of deprivation of liberty have been taken", - the akimat of Astana reported.

Last year deputy akim of Astana Andrei Lukin suggested limiting the stay of former prisoners in the capital to ensure security.

"Most of the recidivists and especially dangerous criminals who have served their sentence choose Astana as a place of residence. Taking into account the psychology and perceptions of the lives of these people, one can most likely say that most of them will commit crimes again", - the deputy akim said then.
