The tendencies in modern energy were discussed by domestic scientists. In Astana, was held a round table "Energy of the Future - prospects for the global energy development", BNews.kz reports. The round table took place on the threshold of the Congress of engineers and scientists, which is planned for the period of the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017.
"This is a significant event for the scientific community, which deals with the issue of energy transfer, that is, the search for the most effective ways to switch to “green” technologies, to new approaches to introduction of the production processes," said the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Samruk-Energy” Almassadam Satkaliyev.
Scientists discussed Kazakhstan's participation in the UN Paris agreement on climate change, according to which in 2020 the measures will be applied to ban direct coal combustion.
"If now we burn the coal directly, we get the steam, and after the electricity, then the coefficient of performance will be 37%, however we are working to convert coal into synthesis gas and then receive electricity from it, respectively, the COP is about 70% ", said the Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Abdikarim Zeynullin.
Unfortunately, scientists noted, Kazakhstani enterprises are not yet ready for the Paris Agreement on synthesis gas.
"Ekibastuz, Karaganda and Shubarkol coals have their own distinctive properties and features. The well-known technologists should adapt these coals to the mining and geological conditions so that our enterprises can introduce them into production and in the future be more prepared for the implementation of the Paris agreement," Zeynullin added.
It should be noted that more than 500 specialists from 50 countries will present their scientific works at the World Congress of engineers and scientists in Astana.
