Inspired by the science fiction of Jules Verne - a flying bicycle was shown at the EXPO

27 June

You can find a flying bicycle in the pavilion of the Czech Republic at the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. Its creators were inspired by the books of Jules Verne, the IIA "Kazinform" reports.

As the developers noted, they managed to realize the dream of boys of different generations with the help of the technologies of the XXI century. It took one year to create the Flying Bike. First of all they designed a virtual prototype, then made its physical variant. Then it was tested, optimizated and afterwards a fully coordinated take-off of this model took place.

Six bike propellers lift the bicycle into the air. Air transport works on the principles of a quadrocopter and a helicopter. The length of the device is 3.8 meters, the width is 2.5 meters and the height is 1.2 meters.

"The bicycle can be charged and it will fly on electricity or you can twist the pedals. The generated energy is accumulated in the battery", - the guide to the pavilion of the Czech Republic said.

The bike accelerates in the air at speed up to 50 km/h. However, as the authors say, you can fly it for 3-5 minutes only.

Let us remind that the Škoda electric bus on nano-technologies and the electric plane will be shown among the exhibits are included in the demonstration concept of the Czech Republic at EXPO.
