The authorities of Astana have checked the readiness of the markets and restaurants of the capital to the reception of EXPO visitors

The authorities of Astana on the threshold of EXPO 2017 once again checked the readiness of the capital of Kazakhstan to receive guests of the world specialized exhibition. This was reported in the press service of akim of the city.

"Representatives of Akimat of Astana under the leadership of the Deputy akim of Astana Malika Bekturova checked the readiness of the markets and restaurants of the capital to meet the guests of the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017. The commission checked the arrangement, general sanitary condition and partial cosmetic repair of the adjacent territories of Astana markets. At the same time was inspected the equipment of trading platforms with signboards and information signs in three languages. The condition and level of preparation of the capital's restaurants for the meeting of foreign guests for the availability of menus in three languages, hostesses, and also employees who speak English and other foreign languages have been subjected to the inspection of the commission. Particular attention during the inspections is given to the design of facades of the facilities,”  reported in Akimat.

According to the press service information, the Road Map for the preparation and holding EXPO 2017 has been developed to date.

"Within the framework of this map, the work to develop a three-language menu at public catering points, the additional installation of POS-terminals and training is under way as well as the work continues to identify and eliminate existing shortcomings in terms of aligning facades, improving the territory, and so on. The improvement works were carried out as well, the defective acts were drawn up, indicating specific deadlines for their elimination at each site. Thus, out of the number of identified remarks, 30 objects were eliminated, and signboards are being updated at 18 sites,” representatives of the Akimat reported.

In addition, as part of the work to improve the quality of the service sector on April 28, 2017, the department jointly with the CCS "College of Catering and Service" held a seminar on "Training of restaurant business specialists", which was attended by more than 200 public catering facilities. Also at this seminar were held master classes for setting the table: breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as the peculiarity of difference in banquets - banquet-buffet, smorgasbord, wedding table and others.

"As part of the implementation of the “Safety and Comfort in the capital” action plan, by the Department of Public Health of Astana and the Department for Emergency Situations on an ongoing basis are being held the norms and rules for compliance with sanitary-epidemiological and fire safety, the handbooks are being distributed, and also being shown the photo and video material. The work in this direction is under constant control,” representatives of the city authorities shared.

To conduct regular detours of Astana in order to control the course of preparation of the capital for EXPO 2017, the city authorities began after criticism from the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, which was made at a meeting dedicated to the world specialized exhibition. Thus, akim of the capital Asset Issekeshev tries to drive around the capital in the mornings, and during the last such inspection he got acquainted with the progress of construction of the cycle track to the exhibition area.
