In Astana, First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin has chaired the first meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the 5th World Kurultai of Kazakhs. This was reported in the press service of the government.
"Mamin noted that since 1992 the Kurultai has been held once every five years. The current, 5th Kurultai will be held in Astana from June 22 to June 25. The grand opening of the event will be held on June 23 in Nazarbayev University," was reported in the press service.
During the meeting were heard reports of Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aktoty Raimkulova and First Deputy Chairman of the World Association of Kazakhs Talgat Mamashev.
Raimkulova said that 350 foreign representatives of the Kazakh diaspora from 38 countries of the world, as well as 370 representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia and the World Association of Kazakhs will take part in the work of the 5th Kurultai.
"Within the framework of the Kurultai, an international conference "Khalifa Altai and the return of history” will take place, delegates will be provided with an excursion to the sights of the capital, a visit to the world exhibition EXPO 2017 and the “Ethnoaul” complex. In a number of ministries will be held round tables and seminars,” was informed in the government.
Following the meeting, Mr.Mamin gave a number of specific instructions to Akimats of Astana and Almaty cities, concerned Government Agencies. The First Deputy Prime Minister stressed the need for holding the Kurultai at a high organizational level.
