Japan was not allowed to bring a hydrogen-powered car to the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017. This was announced at the presentation of the national pavilion of Japan by its commissioner Tomiyasu Nakamura, Informburo.kz portal reports.
"Unfortunately, we were not able to implement everything. We only showed video presentations today. We wanted to bring real exhibits, even a hydrogen vehicle.Unfortunately, we could not do this, because hydrogen itself as a source of energy is dangerous. That is why we could not bring it and I'm sorry," Nakamura shared.
As the commissioner of the national section of Japan noted, the Kazakh side refused to demonstrate dangerous transport for security reasons.
"It's actually an ordinary car. When it's traveling, water flows from the exhaust pipe instead of gases. You can put a glass in it and drink it. It's so clean," he explained.
It is noted that in Japan, the transportation that uses hydrogen instead of fuel is very popular. Such cars have already been released by Toyota and Honda.
“In the press service of JSC "NC" "Astana EXPO 2017" noted that the transportation of a hydrogen vehicle to Kazakhstan was banned by the airline," the edition reports.
Interest in Japan for EXPO 2017 is quite high. Earlier, it became known that the fan group from the Land of the Rising Sun even wrote an incendiary song in honour of the exhibition. In addition to variety performers, the exhibition also inspired local fashion designers. They even developed an exclusive kimono design. The dress is made in the traditional Japanese style and contains images of the Kazakhstan flag and EXPO 2017 logo.
Japan was one of the first countries to confirm its participation in EXPO 2017. At the exhibition, this country is ready to present its most advanced technologies, and also expects support from Kazakhstan when nominating Osaka for the international exhibition EXPO 2025. Japan was interested in Kazakhstan's experience in mobilizing international support for the world specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017.
It is expected that an extensive parliamentary delegation from Japan will also visit the exhibition in Astana.
Let us remind, in late May, Expo road show was held in Tokyo. More than 30 Japanese and Kazakh tourist companies took part in it.
It should be noted that South Korea plans to demonstrate the hydrogen-powered car on EXPO 2017 as well. This was told by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kazakhstan Kim Dae Sik.
